Hunter had to go to the doctor on the 26th for his first check up. He weighed 7lbs 12 oz and is now 21 inches long.

When Sysco was a puppy he was always around my niece and nephew (Sara and Luke) as they grew up but once Matt and I got married, Sysco moved on with us and was away from children for a while. He never had to “fight” for our attention... he was our only child! Before Hunter was born, I was really nervous on how Sysco was going to respond to Hunter. I knew he was set in his ways and wasn’t sure if he was willing to share our attention.

Today we decided to let Sysco and Hunter meet for the first time. As you can see we kept him in his pin first. Usually he runs free in the back yard but I wanted him in his pin just incase he didn’t like him. Sysco has never tried to hurt anyone but ole protective me wasn’t taking any chances!

Leaving the hospital

We finally got to leave the hospital on the 3rd day. Matt and I got up early (being a new parent and staying in the hospital.. we weren't really getting much sleep) and were packed and waiting for the Doctor to release Hunter and me so we could go home. I couldn't wait to sleep in my own bed and finally get him home where he belongs. At the same time I was scared to death because I had never taken care of a newborn before but it is amazing how God gives you the natural instinct to be able to know what to do. Also, Matt and I are a wonderful team and we figured things out together.. we failed together and succeeded together.

Hunter did amazing on the ride home... He pretty much slept the whole time and so did I. Matt was a nervous wreck driving home because he was just a lot more cautious of how other people were driving because now he had his SON in the car with us and he was not going to allow anything to happen to him.
Gosh we look soooo tired. But we were so eager to go home.
First bath... we had no clue what we were doing but we had fun trying to figure it out.

There are so many people who have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Hunter. Some were able to make it to the hospital, some had to come see us at home..either way, we were blessed to have them apart of this precious occasion. One thing is for sure, this sweet little angel is loved!!

The day Hunter was born, there was so many family and friends at the hospital to where I was not able to speak or get pictures of them with Hunter. I was able to get as many as I could but hate that I couldn't have gotten more.

Before I had Hunter I had visited many people in the hospital who just had a baby. They never "look" completely exhausted. I now need to go back and talk to them and get their secret because I was beyond exhausted. I remember talking to someone and then waking up and finding out that I went to sleep in the middle of our conversation. Thankfully they just laughed it off and kept talking to someone else :-/ oops!

Hunter Edward Brannen

On May 20, 2009 Matt and I were blessed with a handsome little boy who weighed 7lb 11oz and was 20 1/4 inches long. It amazes me that people in this world do not believe that there is a God because once you have a child... there is no way in you could deny the mighty and gracious work of our Lord. To know just 9 months prior he was just the size of a peanut and now he is a healthy boy! God is good!! Hunter came into this world pretty tough. He didn't care about crying too much and when they pricked his little foot he just laid there. He is definitely not like his mother who is terrified of needles. He has been blessed with so many people in our family who love him and will make sure that he grows to be the man that God wants him to be. Welcome to this world my precious Hunter.....
