Christmas 2

Christmas night Papa, Nana, Collin, Mamaw and Papaw came over to open presents for them. We were blessed with a Wii and enjoyed having professional lesson from Uncle Collin J Before they left we made sure that we sung happy birthday to Jesus and ate some birthday cake. (chocolate of course!)

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas! This is by far my favorite holiday. It is a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. A lot of times people get so wrapped up into the gift giving that they forget the whole reason for the season. I pray that Hunter grows up to realize that the presents are a nice but the fact that Jesus was born is even better. Happy Birthday Jesus!

Before Grammy, Grandad, Pops and Mimi came over to open presents, we decided to have “our” time and open gifts. Hunter really enjoys the bath tub and taking a bath so he got some new bath toys and this musical monkey toy that he picked out at the store. Yes he picked it out. We didn’t want to get just any toy so we went to the store and let him play around with everything and this was the one he seemed most excited about so we hoped it would be a winner. It seemed like his favorite toy was his existing toy frog... oh well!!!

Christmas Eve

The Christmas gatherings have begun. This is Hunter’s first Christmas and I couldn’t wait to see how he responds to the toys, wrapping paper, ornaments and etc. So far he hasn’t really cared to much about the tree.. He enjoys looking at the lights but could honestly live without them. It was a lot of fun decorating the tree this year.. I just put him in his bouncy seat in front of the tree and he had a ball! He thought it was hilarious every time I would get on the step ladder to put the ornaments on top part of the tree. Easily entertained... I love it!

Today Mimi and Pops came over to eat lunch and open presents. So far Hunter has mostly enjoyed the bows and of course eating the paper!

Thanksgiving is a time for us to stop and remember all of the things we are thankful for. We take so much for granted during our day to day routine to where it is nice to stop and thank God for all of his many blessings.

For Hunter's first Thanksgiving we ate lunch at Rhonda and Tommy's and then we were off to Matt's side of the family to eat supper. Needless to say, Hunter was exhausted (and so were we) when we got home!
Hunter and all of his cousins!!
Hunter and Elainah... they are around 5 months apart.

After church I decided it was about time to finally get an updated family portrait. With the way I have been feeling lately I knew they better take a picture with me in normal clothes because before long I will be in cotton pants and a t-shirt. Haha! Thank you Mimi for coming over and taking a few pictures of us... I know it was such a burden J

Hunter loves anything that makes noise and the louder the better! He also enjoys putting everything in his mouth that he finds. The only reason I can come up with is if it taste good then it’s a good toy to play with.. not sure! The leaves are now falling and I knew Hunter would love it, and boy was I right. He instantly started crushing them in his hands and trying to throw the leaves. And before he could really say if he liked them or not... he had to taste them!! Thankfully I caught him before the actually entered his mouth J

*Also at 5 ½ months old, he weighs 18 lbs 5 oz and is 27.5 inches long

I know a bull is supposed to be mean and ferocious... but have you ever seen a cuter bull than this one?!?! I was worried that he would not care for the costume but he didn't fuss one bit. I found this costume before he was born and just had to get it because Matt's nickname is "Bull". I was really hoping it was going to fit him and it ended up being perfect!
We went to the church where they were having trunk-or-treat and then went to Mimi and Pops house to help give out candy. Overall, it was a very relaxing Halloween!

Beach Bound

We are so fortunate this year and got to go to the beach with Mimi and Pops. This was a needed vacation and the first one where I had to pack for Hunter. I had no idea what Hunter might want or need on the trip so I know I over packed...but that's normal for me! We left when I got off of work so that Hunter could sleep most of the way down there. He did fantastic!

I was ready to get to the beach and Hunter loved it too! He didn't mind the sand but the pool is always his favorite right now.

We truly took a vacation this time... I left the condo's parking lot maybe once the whole time. We cooked in the condo for every meal and if we weren't in the room.. we were on the beach or in the pool. I will be was so nice being able to be lazy. Matt and I were able to get schoolwork done at the same time. Perfect was the one word to describe it!

At Hunter’s 4 month check up he weighed 16 lbs 5 oz and was 27.5 inches long. No matter what kind of day I am having... either good or bad.. this stinker can always bring a smile to my face. He will blow bubbles until you laugh or smile at him!!! He is so musically talented J

In the South, most Dads dream of being able to watch football (or any sport) with their son. Well Hunter made that dream come true early. We turned on the football game and he was glued to the TV. When a commercial would come on, he would start playing... but would instantly start watching the game whenever it came back on. He made his Daddy proud! (Which is definitely not hard to do)

He was worried that Bama wouldn't come through on that play....

For one of my grandmother’s birthdays, we had the honor of going out to eat with her and some of our other family members. Hunter does very good eating out and in public. He likes to sit in one of the high chairs at the restaurants but right now his favorite spot to be is still in someone’s lap!

For my birthday I wanted to take a day trip to Chattanooga, Tennessee. I remember when I was little I had so much fun there... especially going through "Fat Man's Squeeze". When I was younger I didn't remember having too much trouble going through it. That small gap seemed to be a lot smaller this time! I seriously started questioning whether I was going to make it through or not.. haha We really did have a lot of fun on our mini vacation. I wonder where we will go next year?!!? :-)

High Chair

Hunter has officially graduated to the high chair instead of someone’s lap or his bouncy seat at home. From the look on his face I think he is excited.....

This high chair was given to us from Matt’s sisters, Tanya and Crystal. It leans back for easier feeding now, then converts to a normal upright high chair, then a booster seat. How awesome is that!

Big boy is now sitting up pretty well and enjoys time in his Bumbo seat. He just sits there and watches a movie or we play games. These seats are so helpful in allowing him to understand what muscles are needed for him to sit up by himself.

(he is trying to hold all of the excitement in... he can't reveal how thrilled he is!!!)

Ephesians 6:4 states, "And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord."

Matt and I had the honor of dedicating Hunter to the Lord before the church with Brother Tim. Baby dedication is a remind that we will raise Hunter in a Christian home and present Christ and the gospel to him. This is truly the only reason we are here on this have children and raise them the best that we can to be God-fearing individuals. God never said it would be easy, but it will definitely be worth it.

Of course.. Hunter instantly became fussy right as we handed him to Brother Tim...
